Macadamia Oil:

Macadamia oil is the non-volatile oil extracted from the nut meat of the macadamia (Macadamia integrifolia) tree, a native Australian nut. Macadamia oil is sometimes used in food as a frying or salad oil, and in cosmetic formulations as an emollient or fragrance fixative.

Macadamia oil can be used for frying due to its high heat capacity along with other properties useful as an edible oil:

Macadamia nuts

The seeds (nuts) are a valuable food crop. Compared with other common edible nuts, such as almonds and cashews, macadamias are high in total fat and relatively low in protein (table). They have a high amount ofmonounsaturated fats (59% of total content, table) and contain, as 17% of total fat, themonounsaturated fatomega-7 palmitoleic acid.

In 2015, South Africa was the world’s leading producer of macadamia nuts with 48,000 tonnes compared to Australia’s 40,000 tonnes and the total global production of 160,000 tonnes. Macadamia is also commercially produced in BrazilCaliforniaCosta RicaIsraelKenyaBoliviaNew ZealandColombia,Guatemala and Malawi.

Macadamia Butter is made from pure macadamia nuts blended until a smooth paste. Macadamia butter is great on a slice of toast with fresh fruit, honey or straight for the jar!
